Introducing: Girls of the Wild's

In comparison to my time with manga and anime, my time with manhwa in mainly webtoon form is much more recent, and significantly less. I have introduced and raved over Noblesse and recently introduced TAL . You can follow these on EG-Scans.

On this note, I wish to introduce Girls of the Wild's.

Wilds high, it has a history of 42 years as a fighting specialist all girls private highschool meant solely for the elite. The place Wilds-League is held, the most popular event in the country, the only place in the world where teenage girls have brutal fights with their lives.

This year has been changed into a mixed gender school. The only male student? Song Jae Gu, who has been granted a full 3-year scholarship regardless of grades. Being someone who had to spend every moment working or taking care of his two younger siblings, he accepted.

However, the scholarship was granted with the sole condition he does not leave. And after meeting Queen, bloody champion of Wild's-League, drenching her in coffee, calling her a "Monster" and getting caught while she was taking a shower... that could prove fatal. ~MangaUpdates~

I don't know how to explain it...but it is awesome! Now I am no fan of Harem but this also falls under Action, Martial Arts, School Life, Shounen, Comedy, and Drama. And rightly so.

I especially love the Martial Arts aspect of these girls- no, no, its no Holyland but definitely cool enough- they are GIRLY but FIERCE. They will literally FIGHT for their love.

The art is splendid and if you know the artist of "Pet Diary" and "Nineteen Twenty One", it the same Kim Hye Jin / Zhena.

I seriously enjoy this webtoon. The main character, the male, Jae Gu, doesn't do the "SHOUNEN" and show great power / unknown fighting ability. In fact he's against fighting and can't, regardless of the extent of damage, both physical and emotional, he receives.

Considering how much Jae Gu has been through, caring for his younger siblings on his own, working, and dealing with bullies, the word 'wuss' can't and should not be used to describe him. However, his lack of response can sometimes get you frustrated. This now gives the GIRLS of the Wild's more of a chance to fight and protect him, which is cool in its own right.

100% recommended. If not for the story then definitely for the art! Read it on Webtoonlive.

Let me know what you think!

xoxo
