Bakuman Manga Ends

Why does it feel like Bakuman is racing towards telling me "The End! Thank you for all your support until now!"

I tweeted this after reading Ch.175 last week.

It has now been confirmed that Bakuman ends with the next double/couple of issue(s).

After all, dreams have been fulfilled. Nothing was rushed. And the story was beautiful.

Genuinely don't think I've loved Manga characters the way I love Mashiro and Takagi. I don't know how to explain it, but rather than characters in manga doing things, they thought and felt, and it made it feel like I really knew them.

Just seeing them grow up through the ups and downs was always motivational.

I cried with them.

Laughed with and at them.

Cheered for them.

Celebrated with them.

Got angry with and for them.

And it was more than just them; it was the same with Azuki and Miyoshi, and the other mangakas: Nizuma, Fukuda, Aoki, Hiramaru, Takahama, and Iwase. It was lovely to revisit them all in Ch175. One of the many reasons it felt like we were reaching the end.

With BLEACH, Bakuman was my most blogged topic and favourite manga. I am so sad to see it end but hopefully it will get a superb end.

All Great Things Must Come To a Great End.

Ashirogi Muto till the end, Banzai!!

Your favourite Bakuman moment??

In fact it looks like it ended with Ch.176, perfectly titled "Dreams and Reality" which was also the title of the very first chapter.

I had in mind that I would like to see them get married, but having now read the last chapter, it was really the best ending. I definitely obtained the closure I sought.

It focused on Azuki and Mashiro and the great proposal, seeing as we bid our other characters goodbye in the previous chapter.

This 10 year journey started with an overexcited Takagi.

And pushed through with an innocent promise.

Although it took them 10 years and many obstacles got in the way, they never quit, and pushed through to a very happy ending.

Thank you Ohba-sensei and Obata-sensei for a lovely end to an amazing story.

Goodbye Bakuman.

The End for REVERSI ~Bakuman~

CH174 How it Should be and How it Ends

A clean cut end for Reversi without complications. Reversi was able to end as NUMBER ONE and still have an upcoming anime.

The Editor in Chief agreed, the anime staff were ok with it, and the end was great and pleased all the readers.

I was a bit apprehensive after the previous chapter in which they were asked not to end it yet, and the fact that Mashiro does not think that his and Azuki's dream would be fulfilled until the moment the anime airs with her voice. It made me think there were still obstacles to overcome, but in this chapter the main obstacle ~the manga ending before the anime airs ~ was dealt with and hopefully there will be no more.

Now, LET THERE BE A WEDDING!

.....

Will it be that easy though?

I don't see any more foreshadowing as to what else might get in the way.

Can the anime get cancelled before it airs due to unforeseen circumstances???

Nah!

Let me know what you think?!

Azuki Banzaaaaai!!!

BAKUMAN Ch. 172

Be honest now.

You weren't expecting it.

Considering how long it took the boys to get an anime, and all the circumstances surrounding the voice actresses, regardless of how much Azuki really deserves it, you were NOT expecting it.

Took me ages to turn to the page with the announcement, trying to calm myself down and prepared for utter disappointment

And the difference is staggering.

I am so incredibly happy. Its odd, but I said it before, Bakuman has an amazing ability to really drag your emotions into it, so I actually feel happy for them!

Congratulation Azuki!

Congratulations Mashiro!

Let NOTHING come in the way of the wedding now!

~I doubt that though.~

WOOT  WOOT! How happy are you? Were you sceptical too?

For Better or Worse, Speak a few Words

Bakuman ch167! ~Nonsense and A few words~

Nonsense is true.

The effect of the blog and its scandal continues with some really horrible rumours and defamation.

I was interested in seeing how Azuki was holding up against all the horrible things on the net but we only got to see her in this chapter standing up for Ririki Kitami. Although I wanted her to reveal ~at least to us readers~ that she is bad to the bone, all we got were tears and an apology. Q: Do we believe her??

Ashirogi-sensei had the meeting with the anime staff and Mashiro requested Azuki as voice actress which was met with the expected. Although the producer was against the director decided the place will be assigned via audition. Sooo, not really written in stone. Glad Mashiro stuck to his guns ~Takagi is the worrier~.

Seems that editor Hattori is nervous in the background, especially knowing the Mashiro-Azuki love story. The tale seems to have been heard by some editors, passed around, got to Fukuda who thought it was familiar due to Aoki Ko story, called Aoki, then called Takagi for the full briefing. His reaction?? PRICELESS

I am not too sure of how Mashiro feels about all these people knowing, but he might not be too keen on letting the world know, as Fukuda plans on telling in a radio show!

Q: Good? Bad? How do we feel about this method? Will it make it better or worse?

ummm, Fukuda Fight-o?!

Rumour Has it!

Chapter 166! ~Rumours and Articles~

How petty are some people?? Seriously, like YOU had a chance.

"I've just thrown away all the CDs and DVDs Azukyun was in..."

"I'm gonna sell all of Ashirogi's comics."

Well the article proved to be the scandal it was expected to be.
As much as Hattori-san tries to convince them that its okay, and its within their rights to request a voice actor/actress for their project, I don't think it will go down that well considering how people are boycotting Azuki's work too. This would be the salt on their petty wounds.

I can't see the production people agreeing and so the scandal will continue for a bit. How will they overcome?! All we need now is for this Kitami Ririka to show how manipulative she is and prove she wrote it on purpose.

Still I'm glad they're so beautifully headstrong.

  Mashiro+Azuki, FIGHT-O!

Bakuman Ch.165! ~ Practising and Charging up~

I called it last week.

That Azuki would either be:

  • too busy/booked up : solved by her asking for no work till summer,
  • she would fail the audition : solved by the fact that she is obsessed with Ashirogi Muto work and is good at what she does.
  • Will have to go head-to-head with Ririki : we shall see...

But who knew the drama would come from a random fat otaku bastard. ~and Ririki who can't mind her own business~
EDIT: NOT RANDOM. JUST DIDN'T RECOGNISE.

What's next is too obvious: SCANDAL! Boyfriend gets Girlfriend gig in his anime. Auditions rigged!

This will be awhile, but I'm glad Azuki would be getting more story time.

Azuki FIGHTING!

Do you think she'll get it or will they elongate this dream and forever postpone the wedding??

Bakuman Ch164! ~ANIME FOR REVERSI~

I am happy but annoyed at the same time.

To begin with Nizuma pissed me off at the end of the last chapter (163). He wasn't interested in an anime right then and there but all of a sudden when Ashirogi have a chance he does and draws out anime-original names.

Annoying.

Then they battle for anime slot and win. We are told that the editor in chief chose them for the future of Jump, and they should become the true flagship series.

YAY, Happiness!!
I said this before but you can't help but celebrate and feel sorrow with Ashirogi. I feel like I'm seriously following their careers and lives. Plus how could you not be happy when you see:

THEN we get the conversation between the chief editor and Nizuma. That he decided on Reversi so as to fuel Eiji, whom he thought would have made the best flagship for jump with Zombie-Gun, and Ashirogi to continue to grow and compete head-to-head in the future.

Annoying.

When will Ashirogi have a project better than Nizuma's? When will they just win?!!

I can only assume the next drama to ensue will be Azuki booked up or fails the audition to voice-act the character and the other up and coming lady we met does the part.

But for now...REJOICE! For Ashirogi-sensei FINALLY have an anime to their name!

How did you react to Nizuma's change of mind?

Bakuman's RomCom

Because Bakuman is mostly a chill anime/manga with the exciting parts not exactly being a life/death situation I tend to forget how HAPPY it makes me. :)

I love this project so much and feel like I'm totally supporting Saiko and Shuujin's progress as I get so happy when they do well.

The most recent episodes of season 2 (14/15) were focusing mainly on the romance in Bakuman with a high dose of comedy. But take a minute to compare the following images of my first instalment of
MANGA VS ANIME!

What to take from this:

1) The anime follows the manga religiously. Its an amazing replica!

2) When it comes to facial expressions in comedic situations the manga WINS (although some are similar).

3) The anime does not need to stick to the facial expressions as it has soundtrack and exaggerated movement for comedy effect, which the manga doesn't.

4) READ THE MANGA. Its a weekly manga and too much comedic gold to miss out on!

5) CONTINUE to WATCH the anime, since the manga is considerably ahead, its nice to be reminded every now and then.

What's wrong with a little more happiness? ;)

Synergy Effect and a New Record

Chapter 152 of  Bakuman is out!

Basically dealt with the releasing of both one-shots and the aftermaths.

Will they win?? Will they get higher than 692?!

Should I take Nizuma's quietness as proof of that since he is so psychic?!!

AAAAhhhhh! I need to know!

DON'T MAKE ME WAIT TILL NEXT WEEK!!!

~This review (if you could call it that) served no purpose~

The Manga about Mangas

Bakuman ch151 was released: Zombies and Demons

We got the down-low on the plots and characters for each of Ashirogi Muto and Nizuma's new one shot- hopefully sterilization.

Ashirogi Muto hope to go head to head with Nizuma knowing he has a new one shot idea, while Nizuma is still unaware of their challenge.

The boys ~as usual~ are ever super excited about their new work.

~sigh~ I really want Ashirogi Muto to get first place with their one shot. Its been a long time coming!
We need an anime for one of their works already!!

What do you think will happen?
Will their Demon of Justice be the anime they always wanted??
Will it at least beat Nizuma-kun's one shot?

xoxo
