I am happy but annoyed at the same time.
To begin with Nizuma pissed me off at the end of the last chapter (163). He wasn't interested in an anime right then and there but all of a sudden when Ashirogi have a chance he does and draws out anime-original names.
Annoying.
Then they battle for anime slot and win. We are told that the editor in chief chose them for the future of Jump, and they should become the true flagship series.
YAY, Happiness!!
I said this before but you can't help but celebrate and feel sorrow with Ashirogi. I feel like I'm seriously following their careers and lives. Plus how could you not be happy when you see:
THEN we get the conversation between the chief editor and Nizuma. That he decided on Reversi so as to fuel Eiji, whom he thought would have made the best flagship for jump with Zombie-Gun, and Ashirogi to continue to grow and compete head-to-head in the future.
Annoying.
When will Ashirogi have a project better than Nizuma's? When will they just win?!!
I can only assume the next drama to ensue will be Azuki booked up or fails the audition to voice-act the character and the other up and coming lady we met does the part.
But for now...REJOICE! For Ashirogi-sensei FINALLY have an anime to their name!
How did you react to Nizuma's change of mind?

Moretsu Pirates ~Arrrr?~
Bodacious Space Pirates
Marika is a first year high school student living in a far away galaxy known as Uminoakeboshi. One day she finds out that her recently deceased father was once the captain of the space pirate ship called the "Bentenmaru". More importantly, the only one to inherit the captain's title has to be a direct descendant—meaning that Marika is next in line to become the captain of the ship.
I almost didn't watch it since the comments on the first episode weren't so great and because I'm not too keen on female character dominated anime ~don't mind male domination though ;) ~, especially considering what its called.
Now that I've seen the first three episodes I think it shaping up nicely. The anime takes her 'decision making' nice and slow so the story feels a lot more realistic, rather than the *all of a sudden she was forced to become captain of a pirate ship!* method.
I never feel like I've watched the full 23min by the time it ends, so I do find it rather interesting.
I will be continuing on with this anime. I think its definitely worth checking out, and if turned off by all the girls in it, check out who is sensei / pirate:
If not for him, then for the anime's take on the futuristic world, which I found rather fascinating.
Good enough? ;)

Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou
Daily lives of High School Boys
The daily lives of Tadakuni, Yoshitake, and Hidenori; three friends attending a boys-only high school.
Caution: Don't snack and watch. May lead to choking.
Let me make it simple: by far the FUNNIEST series this season and perhaps in a long while.
Absolutely hilarious and dead embarrassing at parts, I thought I was going to choke from laughing! ><
I was most certainly not prepared for it to be as funny as it was. I thought it would remind me of Kimi-to-Boku but unlike it, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is NOT set mainly in the high school ~in fact we were only there once~ but in one of the boy's home and around.
Its set up in segments, as most gag mangas are, and as much as I want to list my favourite quotes, it'll be too much. So instead,
Ever wondered how to get a girlfriend/ how boys get girlfriends?
What is your opinion on skirts?
Do nipples grow back?
Have you ever wished for an unrealistically romantic boy-meets-girl encounter? <3
Were you ever so embarrassed you wanted to die?!
No? Yes? Watch anyway!!
These are based on the first episode but episode two is also now out! I was still high on the first one so maybe I'm biased when I say it wasn't as funny, but still the funniest thing that you'll hear/see all week.
So Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou has firmly seated itself in the exclusive section of *will be watching for the rest of the season* and rightfully so. :)
Enjoy! Let me know what you think/ share your fav quotes!

Bakuman's RomCom
Because Bakuman is mostly a chill anime/manga with the exciting parts not exactly being a life/death situation I tend to forget how HAPPY it makes me. :)
I love this project so much and feel like I'm totally supporting Saiko and Shuujin's progress as I get so happy when they do well.
The most recent episodes of season 2 (14/15) were focusing mainly on the romance in Bakuman with a high dose of comedy. But take a minute to compare the following images of my first instalment of
MANGA VS ANIME!
What to take from this:
1) The anime follows the manga religiously. Its an amazing replica!
2) When it comes to facial expressions in comedic situations the manga WINS (although some are similar).
3) The anime does not need to stick to the facial expressions as it has soundtrack and exaggerated movement for comedy effect, which the manga doesn't.
4) READ THE MANGA. Its a weekly manga and too much comedic gold to miss out on!
5) CONTINUE to WATCH the anime, since the manga is considerably ahead, its nice to be reminded every now and then.
What's wrong with a little more happiness? ;)

Area no Kishi
'The Knight in the Area' is looking to be a much needed GOOD football/soccer anime that can develop to be one of the greats.
I feel the last time I watched a soccer anime I was a kid, and its a darn shame.
The first two episodes is now out! I rate it rather highly; I have this impatient disorder that when I really like an anime, I ruin it for myself by going and reading the manga. Luckily, I managed to stop myself from reading too far ahead. ~Shame I can't say the same for N-POT~
So far it seems like the sport shounen anime may be the highlight this season; and they're both bound to last through the next season. Lucky us! <3
Give it a Shot! Let me know what you think!

Aizawa Kakeru is an energetic and dedicated eighth grader who serves as the manager for his school’s football team. Though he was well known for being a talented player the previous year, an accident during one of his games caused Kakeru to vow never to play competitively again. Still passionate about the sport, Kakeru dreams of one day becoming a professional football trainer so that he can work alongside his older brother Suguru, the ace of the school team who has represented Japan in international competition. However, Kakeru may be harbouring a strong talent within himself that only Suguru can see, and the two often get into arguments over Kakeru's denial of his skills. Things are made more complicated with the return of Seven, an old playmate of theirs that Kakeru has a crush on. Join the brothers in their journey to the national and even international championships! ~Mangaupdates and ANN~

Aquarion Love... I mean Evol
Aquarion Evol is a story of 12,000 years of sexual frustration and repression being released- Mecha style.
No seriously: 12,000 years have passed in this world, the story of Apollon and Sylvie have become a children's story called "Skies Of Aquaria". The "Abductors" Invaders from Altea come to Earth with only one purpose, they invade to harvest humans. DAEVA the Aquaria Academy exists to train men and women to use Aquaria, but they cannot ever merge because of Guize stones, these block an "unholy union" between genders. The story follows Amata and Mikono in their enrollment into DAEVA, and fight the Abductors. ~Anime News Network~
Although this a continuation from a previous project Aquarion, this is set 12,000 years later and I don't think its necessary to watch the first one. ~That and I couldn't really find it??~
The first of Aquarion Evol was an interesting double release and they more or less fill you in with the world and its goings.
All I got from it was that it was a sexual battle in "vector machines". They even called the transformation an "unholy union" which the "chastity stones" Guize should prevent.
It was trying to be cool; the character and area design and art were awesome so I wanted to like it, I really did, but the conversations and explanation were so damn cheesy. ~I was so embarrassed~.
Even the transformation, which I should explain is the vectors fucking, lasted AGES and kept using words a drama queen would when narrating the lose of her virginity. Yes.
"I'm being torn apart" "Its breaking!" "We'll be torn apart, and then burst" "Something in me is going to burst!" |
I glared at the screen through this whole embarrassing ordeal.
Other than that there was love, battle, a rival, an all girl school ~singing~ , an all boy school ~army training~, and a prophecy.
Now having said all that, I WILL be checking out the next episode, in hope for less cheese and sexual descriptions.

What did you think? Have you watched the previous Aquarion?

Oh, Tite Kubo ~BLEACH~
Oh, Tite, how I tried and tried to give you the benefit of the doubt. But now that we are here lets be honest.
ALL IN ALL the Full-Bring arc was a waste of time and space...there was literally NO plot. I thought there would be more to it after Ginjo, but no.
So, following ch.478 ~which I previously advised there was no point reading~ Bleach took a week off, and two weeks later we got ch.479.
Don't read it. You won't miss a thing.
Only thing that may be nice to know ~or a bit frustrating~ is that our lovely vaizards Shinji, Kensei, and Love were shown to have become Soul Society captains. ~REALLY?! After everything that happened??~
The chapter goes on to continue the Goodbyes it started last chapter and ends with a footnote announcing that Bleach will take a 3 week break.
My advice: QUIT!
Bleach should have ended with Aizen and the loss of powers. It was great and it was over. There was much unexplained, such as Ichigo's father ~which they lured us in with in the Full-Bring arc pretending they were going to explain anything!~, but if the mysteries are not to be solved then just stop.
This is seriously just dragging out the inevitable. All good things must come to an end eventually.
Bleach was my first experience with manga and anime and I will always remember it as such.
So for now, Goodbye.
xoxo
What did you think about this arc? What purpose did it serve but to give Ichigo's powers back? Hated it/ loved it?

Kyaaaa!! Ryoma-sama!
New Prince of Tennis Anime NOW OUT!
New POT began and its flashier than EVER! So much so for the first 5min I couldn't help but think it was too cheesy. Luckily though it past the little line between cheese and squeal-tastic!
Okay, we shall first start with Ryoma's new look:
It started on a high with a nice intro of our beloved Seigaku tennis team, who were challenged to knock down 3 cans on the tennis court by high-schoolers upon entering the selection camp. All were of-course very successful.
Our middle-schoolers are safe, but with the greedy likes of Kintaro and Atobe-sama ~I must~ things go sour, and the high-schoolers challenge for a match. This is of course after the flashiest of all appearances ~Kyaa! Ryoma-sama!~
The challenge is issued to a 'Megane' i.e you with glasses or four-eyes. Unfortunately we have quite a few of those ~enter megane bishounens~
Quite a few matches occur and Ryoma is as arrogant as ever during his match and teases the fellow player by copying his moves.
Chotaro of Hyotei however is kind enough to simply give some balls away, which Shishido-senpai comments is lame, not super-lame, but just plain lame. ~One of the funnier scenes~
The episode ends with a warning from higher ranked high-schoolers that all matches must end as they are unauthorised and that all the ones who played were of the lower ranks so the middles schoolers shouldn't get ahead of themselves.
The rank battles begin with a random shuffle in the next episode! I'm well excited!
How into it are you?! This is TOTALLY GOING TO BE MY FAVOURITE THIS SEASON!

In "The New Prince of Tennis," Ryoma and the others (team members and teams they faced) begin a new adventure when they are the only 50 middle school students to be invited to the Japanese High School Representatives Selection Camp where only the top potentials in the Japanese tennis world train. ~Anime News Network~

Nice! Summer growth! |

We are told that with addition of 50 middle-schoolers into the camp they are 50 too much, so a plane is to drop 250 tennis balls, and those who can't obtain of one is to leave immediately. Cue in the middle school teams we have grown to love.
Our middle-schoolers are safe, but with the greedy likes of Kintaro and Atobe-sama ~I must~ things go sour, and the high-schoolers challenge for a match. This is of course after the flashiest of all appearances ~Kyaa! Ryoma-sama!~

The comedy here being the one who removes his glasses and the one who isn't suppose to have one.

Break it...Break it DOWN!
Happy *belated* New Year!!
But more importantly HAPPY START OF THE ANIME WINTER SEASON 2012!
To put it honestly I was not a fan of the Autumn season. Not many held my attention to the end.
Many died out at the very beginning: Ben-to , Maji de Watashi , Persona 4 , Phi Brain, Guilty Crown.
Some lasted half way: Un-go , Tamayura Hitotose.
Others I took to the end: Kimi to Boku, The IdolM@aster , Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi, Bakuman 2 , Working!!.
One awaits me to catch up on: Nurarihyon no Mago.
One I hope to god is not ending this season: Chihayafuru.
The rankings of those that managed to the end will be posted shortly. ^^
BUT ON TO THE NEW SEASON!
I believe the first one to have come out was Rinne no Lagrange:
Madoka Kyouno is the sole member of the Jersey Club is always ready to help others out. One day, she is approached by an alien named Lan who asks her to pilot a robotic aircraft to defend mankind against an evil force. ~Wikipedia~
Madoka, our protagonist, is the kind of hyper, nosy, always ready to help, good at everything- protagonist. The first episode had some battle (?) with aliens (?) in a legendary robotic aircraft only she can pilot.
Did she ask why? Or what purpose is she serving?
NO! She literally said that as long as it helps out her new alien acquaintance, Lan, then she will do it.
She seems like the kind of protagonist who will fight without knowing why, and as we don't know what the alien ~I really can't see them as aliens~ purpose is, how can we support our protagonist?!
The way I see it I'd rather support the opposing side made up of bishounen aliens. Only reason I've been given...
Plus our protagonists side's commander looks shaaady.
Unless its explained soon, or she gives another purpose for herself other than helping out the weirdo she just met, this is bound to frustrate me. Chances I take this to the end is low.
What did you think?
NEXT!
Natsume Yujin-cho, which is basically the fourth season of Natsume Yuujinchou with varying spelling/writing for every season.
For as long as he can remember, Takashi Natsume has been cursed by the ability to see spirits, a power inherited from his grandmother Reiko. Upon her death, Reiko bequeaths to her grandson her Book of Friends, a book containing the names of spirits Reiko had bullied into servitude. The Book of Friends is a highly prized item in the spirit world, and spirits haunt Takashi constantly. Whereas Reiko formed the contracts, however, Takashi spends his time dissolving the contracts and releasing the various spirits that come to him for help. But that doesn't mean there aren't malicious spirits trying to kill him. Which is where Madara (called Nyanko-sensei by Natsume) comes in; Madara serves as Natsume's bodyguard and spiritual advisor of sorts, even though he is motivated by his own desire to possess the Book of Friends. He later on begins to become more attached to Takashi. ~Wikipedia~
It was a good start to the new season, intros were done but it wasn't too slow, the story picked up quickly and smoothly. It of course was down as a 'will certainly be watching to the end' so no worries here. ^^
Matoba Seji and Natsume meet again in unfavourable circumstances for our protagonist. Matoba is in possession of the Book of Friends although ~we are naive to believe~ he does not know of it yet .
It ends with Natsume's capture, so a very exciting beginning.
What did you think?
Next stop will be The NEW PRINCE OF TENNIS, which I have watched but this post is long enough.
